The inaugural competition on industrial Automation programming (PLC) and Graphics Development/scripting (SCADA) that was keenly contested across the nation has finally produced a winner. Afini Alluputa a Uniport graduate emerged the winner of the inaugural programming competition which is worth a prize money of one Million Naira. The Second and third prize went to Jibril and Destiny, both won Five hundred thousand and two hundred thousand Naira respectively.

The award which took place in Advanxis Technologies and Process Automation Facility in Trans Amadi Industrial layout, Port Harcourt, Mark the company’s Ten Years anniversary celebration. The award/anniversary celebration saw captain of industries and various professional organizations in attendance. The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ( NIEEE) National president on Instrumentation, Control and Automation Engineering, FNIEEE, Engr. Tony Nwagbo spoke on the need to support and encourage home grown Technology to foster prosperity and job creation.

The MD of the company, Engr Anthony James thanked the participants and promise that the second edition of the competition will be much bigger and more encompassing to include other application based programming. He urges companies, organization and the government to support indigenous engineering and Technological effort in order to foster local engineering and technological capacity which in turn will accelerate industrialization with attendance job creation and economic growth.

The award/anniversary celebration also features Engineering exhibition, music and other entertainment.
