Instrumentation and control Training

A three days (30hrs) intensive and practical hands on training in Instrumentation and process control. This is a 100% practical based training with live experience on our automation studio which houses a live process plant.

Day One

Field instrument Identification, classification, and principle of operation

Activities:

  • Trainees will be presented, thought to identify, and classify various field instrument such as Transmitters, switches, sensors, control valves etc.
  • Trainees will be though the principle of operation of all the major field instrument and how they are deployed in various applications.

Instrument control loop

Activities:

  • Trainees will be thought to wire up a 4-20ma control loop in our state-of-the-art process automation studio from the transmitter in the field to the field junction box and to the marshalling cabinet down to the system cabinet
  • Commissioning of the loop will also be carried out by our trainees to ascertain the proper functionality of the loop.

Day Two

Instrument Tube fittings, Tubbing and cable trays

Activities:

  • Trainees will be trained and meant to identify various tubing fittings, tubbing devices and there uses
  • They will carry out tubing activities as the trainer instructs
  • They will carry out commissioning of there tubing works with the in-studio provided air compressor
  • They will carry out cable laying and termination

Instrument calibration and control loop troubleshooting

Activities:

  1. Identification and uses of various instrument used to maintain the field devices such as multimeter loop calibrator, HART communicator, etc
  2. Carry out both online and offline calibration of various field devices.
  3. Control loop troubleshooting with loop calibrator, HART communicator, etc.

Day three

PLC IO configuration, programming, setup, and commissioning

Activities:

  • The trainees will identify the I/O to the PLC and how they are wired up.
  • The trainees will carry out PLC configuration, programming, setup and downloading/uploading the program to the PLC
  • The Trainees will carry out PLC system commissioning

PLC/HMI and field device setup

Activities:

  • Trainees will learn how to configure the HMI screens and application graphics
  • The trainees will carry out network configuration and setup the communication between the PLC and HMI

The Trainees will be provided with the following during the training:
